Independent Career Institute
STATEMENT OF POLICY

Independent Career Institute is accredited by the Missouri Real Estate Commission for the purpose of offering the CompuTaught Missouri Prelicense Course online.  The Salesperson Pre-Exam Course is required by Missouri State Law.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and complete this required course within 6 months (180 days) of enrollment.
After completing the course, you will be eligible to take the Salesperson state exam.  Upon passing both parts of the state license exam administered by AMP (with 75%) and taking the 24-Hour Missouri Real Estate Practice Course you can apply for a Salesperson License through a Broker any where in the state of Missouri.

Requirements for Completing the Course
To complete the Salesperson Pre-Exam Online Course and receive a Certificate of Completion, each student must
successfully complete the following requirements in this order:

                · Carefully read and understand this ICI School Policy Manual.
                · Click on the ICI Online Enrollment.
                · Click on the "Order Now" link to sign up online.
                · Complete ALL instructional lessons in the course by answering each
                  question at least twice. Most questions are timed and need to be
                  answered within the prescribed time for credit.  In addition, all students
                  enrolled must pass the salesperson online course final exam.
                · Return a signed Student Certification Statement, location in the back
                  of this school policy manual to ICI when the course is complete.
                  The Student Certification Statement is a signed affidavit from
                  you certifying that you have personally completed each assigned lesson
                  of instruction.
                · Contact ICI to get a course Certificate of Completion.

System Requirements:
                · IBM PC Compatible Computer
                  (minimum 450 MHz Intel Pentium II Processor with 256MB RAM)
                · Super VGA (800x600) or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor
                · Microsoft Windows XP or higher
                · Internet connection (minimum 56Kbps required,
                  although we recommend a high speed connection such as DSL, cable or T1)
                · Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or greater
                  (free download available with course)
                · 400 MB available hard drive space
                · Microsoft standard Arial, Times New Roman, Symbol, and Windings fonts
                · Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 or greater
                  (free download available with course)
                · Printer (for course documentation and Student Affidavit)
                · Course will NOT support the Apple MAC platform or any internet browser other than Microsoft Internet Explorer

Technical Support
The quickest way to solve most technical support problems is to go to www.mycoursepage.com/support and click on the Tech Support button. (90% of all problems can be answered from that website)  For those problems not addressed, please email your questions to CompuTaught at techsupport@computaught.com or call CompuTaught Tech Support directly at (800) 743-8703.  Technical Support via email and telephone is only available Monday thru Friday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST, and between the hours of noon and 4:00 PM, EST, Saturday and Sunday, except holidays.


Grading
An Online Course Final Exam will be administered online for the Missouri Prelicense course by ICI.

Certification
Upon completion of a course, each student will receive a certificate of course completion.  In the event the certificate is lost, a duplicate may be obtained from the Independent Career Institute offices by written request.  An administrative fee may be charged for the duplicate.

Course Information
In order to assist with preparation for the state-licensing exam, each student has three months to access and review the course content after they have completed a course.

Notice to Student
All questions pertaining to registration, refunds, school policy, course content, explanation of state licensing law, final exams, and completion certificates should be addressed to Independent Career Institute.  They will be glad to assist each student and can be reached at 314-434-2425.

Non-Discrimination
Independent Career Institute will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, handicap,or familial status in the establishment of fees, entrance qualifications, or standards for successful completion of any course.

Refunds
                  CompuTaught’s policy is that they
             do not issue refunds except under the following condition:

                · If a student purchases an Online course and experiences technical
                  difficulties that can’t be solved by CompuTaught’s tech support staff.
                  CompuTaught will issue a refund to the student and notify the school.

Note: CompuTaught will not issue a refund to any student who purchases a course and later finds that they cannot satisfy the minimum system requirements for running the course.  Here are some examples of situations in which CompuTaught will not issue a refund:

                · A student buys the course and tries to run it on an
                  Apple/Macintosh Computer.

                · A student does not have at least Windows 98 or higher
                  and is unwilling to upgrade to Windows 98 or higher.

                · A student purchases an Online course and does not have
                  Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher and is unwilling to upgrade
                  to Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.
 


How to Complete the Course

A. STARTING INSTRUCTIONS
 Please refer to the “Introduction” lesson, located at the beginning of each course.

B. STUDENT CERTIFICATION STATEMENT
All students participating in online course must complete an affidavit certifying compliance with the course requirements.  The Student Certification Statement, located in the back of this manual, is to be used as the affidavit.  This statement must be Signed, and Dated and returned to Independent Career Institute, before any student can receive credit for a distance learning course.  This statement certifies that each student has personally completed each lesson of instruction.

C. COURSE FINAL EXAMINATION
All course work must be complete before taking the final exam, and all appropriate forms need to be returned to Independent Career Institute.

The final exam is taken online.  Students have a maximum of three hours to complete the salesperson online End Of Course exam.  A score of 70% or better must be achieved in order to receive credit and a Certificate of Completion for the Pre-Exam course.  The exam must be taken within six months from the date of enrollment.

RE-EXAMINATION POLICY
In the event you do not pass the online final exam, please contact ICI to schedule a retake.

Note: The retake will NOT be taken online.  It will be a paper and pencil test administered by ICI.

D. MISSOURI SALESPERSON LICENSING EXAMINATION
After passing the online final examination for the Pre-Exam course, Independent Career Institute will issue a Certificate of Completion that certifies the student has successfully completed the Salesperson Pre-Exam course.  The student is now eligible to take the licensing exam for the state of Missouri.

E. STATE EXAMINATION
