Independent Career Institute
Real Estate Training School
Salesperson & Broker Pre-license Training Courses
Accredited by the
MISSOURI REAL ESTATE COMMISSION

WHAT DOES ICI DO? Being an independent school that is used and highly recommended by brokers, our goal is to teach the basic concepts of Real Estate Law that are necessary for our students to take, and pass, the Missouri Real Estate Exam.

Our Salesperson Pre-Exam Course are designed for the average person, who may not know about the business, so we walk students through each topic to make sure everyone knows the material before we go to the next subject.

We teach the easy way to learn the concepts of Real Estate Law, Civil law, Brokerage, Agency, Contracts Valuation, Appraisal, Finance and the Secular Rights of Ownership. Our Students learn the tricks to answering multiple choice questions, the formula to convert real estate math into simple arithmetic and the insider info to become test wise.

At ICI we simplify the material and our students gain the knowledge and confidence to pass the State License Exam.

Since we teach two courses a month, our class size is small, which gives us the opportunity to help those who may need personalized attention.

Our Training schedule permits us to be very flexible, because we understand that some students may have scheduling problems. With ICI, a student can mix and match day or night classes (with prior notification) and still take up to six months to finish the course.

When students complete the course, and receive an ICI Certificate of Completion, they are ready to take the State License Examination.

Another benefit is that, if an ICI Graduate does not pass the state license test, he/she may return to school (free) for as long as the Certificate is still valid (another six months).

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SALESPERSON AND A BROKER? A Broker is a person who operates a Real Estate Company, either as the Owner or Manager and a Salesperson is an Associate who helps the Broker conduct business (listing, Selling, Buying, Property Management, etc). WHAT ARE THE LEGAL REQUIREMENTS? An applicant for Salesperson License must be at least 18 years old, complete the appropriate 48 Hours Pre-Exam Course (100% attendance required), Pass both parts of the License Exam administered by AMP (with a 75%) and take the Missouri Real Estate Practice Course prior to applying for a License with a Missouri Broker.

A formal education, residency or citizenship is NOT a legal requirement to be Licensed in Missouri.

The requirements for a Broker License are to take the 48 Hour Broker Pre-License Course, Pass both parts of the examination administered by AMP and have been actively engaged as a Salesperson for at least 2 years immediately preceding their application for a Missouri Broker License.

NOTE:  Certain Criminal Convictions MAY prevent you from receiving or retaining a real estate license.

HOW MUCH WILL ALL THIS COST ME? The Course Registration and Tuition Fee, which includes the Manual, is explained in the ICI Course Price List & Enrollment Form.

A separate expense is the cost of the Test, which is paid to the Testing Service (AMP) for the State Exam. The AMP Candidate Handbook (with locations, times, and steps how to apply for the Exam) will be handed out in the first class session.

We also hold an optional Review Session, which covers the material one more time and has proven to give our Students the competitive edge. There is an additional fee for this Seminar, because it is not part of the enrolled Course, and attendance at this Review Day is not required.                               COURSE PRICE LIST

AFTER I PASS, WILL I HAVE A PROBLEM FINDING A BROKER? A Graduate Student, with an Application for Licensure, is very much in demand, because Brokers are constantly looking for new people to become part time or full time Real Estate Agents

This Ready Posture will give you the confidence to go out and interview Brokers so YOU can decide whom you want to be associated with.

HOW DO I GET STARTED? Simply complete the Enrollment Application and send it to our Location in Westport. This may be done by mail, with the payment, or by Fax with a Credit Card.

Walk in Students will be admitted on a first come basis, subject to enrollment limitations.

SHOULD I GO TO ICI REAL ESTATE SCHOOL? Now YOU have to decide! I hope this brochure has shown that we care about you as a future Student and that we are willing to go that extra mile to provide you with the type of professional Training you demand, to become a successful Real Estate Agent.
